Rules-Light Framework

Year Zero Mini (YZM) is a tabletop RPG framework best used with gritty settings. It uses a modified version of the Year Zero Engine found in Tales From the Loop, and has other influences from story games like Burning Wheel, FATE Core, and Alas for the Awful Sea. You can see the half-page character sheet below.

To play, you will need about a dozen standard six-sided dice (D6s), the rules, and some printed out character sheets.

The rules are designed to be printed out double-sided, creating a character creation handout, a 2-page Player’s Handbook (core rules & conflict) and a 2-page GM’s Guide (Gamemastering & Adventure Sparks).
